Matt & Lisa’s Wedding
A wedding less ordinary…
When our friend and regular Sparth House wedding photographer Matt Grainger chose us as his wedding venue, we knew it wouldn’t be your average wedding! Matt wanted guests to enjoy themselves from the minute they arrived to the minute they left and they certainly did that! The whole day had a super relaxed feeling to it.
Matt & Lisa had their day with us on 29th August 2022 after a few postponements. Being chosen by a wedding supplier to host their special day really is an honour - they see a lot of venues and a lot of teams running weddings - so to be chosen amongst them all is a huge compliment!
THE WEDDING CEREMONY
The ceremony was probably the longest the guests were inside all day - thanks to the stunning weather, our beautiful gardens and the couple’s extensive range of garden activities - but more about that later.
We loved the colourful ribbon added to the chairs and also, what’s not to love about a ‘flower man’ complete with his own pack of petals?!
DRINKS RECEPTION
The couple opted for a longer drinks reception so guests could really enjoy themselves in the gardens.
They had both pimms and peroni served for their guests along side canapes of mini beef and pork sliders and chips.
The couple really made use of the beautiful weather and the outside space here at Sparth House. With the whole house and grounds to yourselves, you can make use of every space and your guests can relax knowing that there’s no members of the public looking on at the activities. We think it’s best to let the photos do the talking about exactly what went on during the drinks reception…
Yes, that is the groom on a horse, racing a t-rex on a horse… we did warn you it was a wedding out of the ordinary!

COUPLE AND CONFETTI SHOTS
Being outside was obviously important to Matt and Lisa, so it made sense that they made full use of the gardens and the perfect photo spots we have for their couple portraits. Of course we can’t forget confetti lane and after what happened - we don’t think the bride and groom will either!
THE WEDDING BREAKFAST
Matt & Lisa decided they didn’t want the traditional and formal three-course wedding breakfast, so opted for something a little more relaxed. They had just one course at the tables. then had used our Regency room to create a huge dessert table to go with tea and coffee - this meant guests could help themselves to as much cake as they desired!
EVENING RECEPTION
Before the evening guests arrived, bride and groom tried their hand at our ever popular beer and prosecco pong in the garden.
This is a great way to get the party started and also get some great action shots!
The bride also did a bouquet toss and we love the photos from it!
