Anne & Simon’s Wedding
Anne & Simon’s Colourful Wedding!
When couples book a Summer wedding they dream of sunshine, blue skies and warmth! Well Simon & Anne’s wedding day was just that. We couldn’t have picked better weather for them if we were able to and their choice of flowers and decoration was absolutely gorgeous - but more about that later…
Photographer : Matthew Grainger - Stunning photographs as always!
Videographer : here’s a short teaser video from Damian Kelly Films who filmed their day for them.
This wedding day was such a lovely wedding to work, mainly because Anne & Simon were such a joy to work with, always smiling and super excited about their upcoming wedding, even through the uncertainties caused by lockdowns that the lead up to their wedding gave us.
“We were 4 weeks out from our date and then...BOOM....lockdown hit. This is where Olivia and Katie really came into their own - communicating in these strange times was key and they kept us, and all the other bride and grooms to be, fully informed and updated at all times. We ended up changing the date numerous times, but this was with the full cooperation of everyone at Sparth House.”
They sure put a lot of work into planning their wedding and it definitely gave us and their guests a wedding to remember.
Anne stayed in our Garden Apartment the night before her big day giving her and her bridal party the perfect room to get ready in whilst the incredible team at Gingerbread Events transformed the house into a stunningly bright and colourful floral wonderland.
There were flowers covering the stairways, the fireplaces in the lounge areas were also adorned with lots of little vases and bright wildflowers. Not forgetting the table centrepieces in the main room, they featured floating candles surrounded by bright, big posies with a pink glow in the room from their neon backdrop. Jo from A Cake Occasion even matched the cake to the flowers with individually handcrafted sugar flowers.
THE WEDDING CEREMONY…
Another thing that really stood out for me was the string quartet playing throughout their ceremony and outside during the drinks reception! They chose Rylands String Quartet for this and they sounded gorgeous. It was honestly like something out of Bridgerton. Just look how happy excited Simon looks!
Just picture the drinks reception that followed… a string quartet playing by the lawn in the back gardens, prosecco’s being topped up and canapes flowing, sunshine beaming down and guests enjoying every minute with the bride and groom simply beaming with happiness.
WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHS
The summer glow on these photographs taken throughout the day is stunning! Just look how green Confetti Lane is and they even managed to get a sunset shot on the lawn.
They even got outside in the evening, lighting up the front gardens by the giant tree.
THE FOOD, SPEECHES & PARTY
When we invited the bride and groom into the main room to have a first look at it before we seated their guests, I think Anne’s face perfectly captures how in awe of it she was. The team at Gingerbread Events certainly pulled off her vision.
Did we mention they also had a candyfloss cart during the drinks reception!
Once speeches were over, the meal was thoroughly enjoyed by all and then the fun really started…
Before the wedding, they shared a playlist with us for during the meal and when we say it’s one of the best ones we’ve received - I’m not lying. It’s definitely still my go to playlist for during a wedding breakfast!
A quick change of the room, and some gorgeous pink and purple uplighters and the room looked transformed and ready for a party… and party they did! With a fun game of Mr & Mrs followed by a first dance to ‘Something’ by The Beatles, our incredibly happy couple took to the dancefloor with their family and friends for the party they’d waited over a year for!
Thank you to Anne & Simon for choosing us to host your special day and for sticking with us through in the run up to it with the hurdles lockdown threw our way. It really was worth it in the end and we wish you all the best for your lives together. At the time of me writing this, you’ve already celebrated your first anniversary and we wish you many more to come.
