DAY 4 - LIST YOUR PRIORITIES
Well done on making it to here! You’ve managed to tackle two of the biggest tasks and we think now is a good time to have a think about what you both would love and also need for your wedding. So let’s talk about priorities…
A priorities list is super important to make as even though you love each other, you are likely to have a few very different ideas of what the perfect wedding looks like! Which is completely normal and very common - they do say opposites attract after all don’t they! So on that note, it’s good to talk about it, consider each others ideas and get it down on paper. Here’s a few tips of things to think about:
Focus on what you both really want from your wedding day and this will encourage you to think about it properly and carefully before making any (often costly) irrational decisions
Your wedding day is about you both so write down a list of what is important to you both for your wedding day. For this think back to basics kind of details. Here’s a few examples to give you an idea:
Everything must happen at the same venue
Must have on site accommodation for guests
Venue should be less than 40 minutes away from home
Plenty of parking
Need somewhere to get ready
Modern looking venue
Band instead of a DJ for the evening
Video footage as well as photographs
Sometimes it’s easier to say what you definitely don’t want as opposed to what you do want. A twist on what’s not important in a way and these come up a lot…
No ugly carpets in the function rooms (they’ll clash with my styling) - we hear ya!
No children - we want to give our guests a night off!
It’s also good to make a wish list - this can have all the fun, elaborate, fancy things you’d love but aren’t a must (non neccesities but they’d certainly add the finishing touches if you like). Basically a list of the fabulous extras that if your budget can stretch to, you can treat yourself to! Such as…
The groom to arrive in a sportscar
Private Gin Bar for your guests to enjoy a few extra drinks on you
Champagne to toast for something a bit more special
Brilliant, you’ve got a clearer idea on what you need to plan for now so keep these lists handy as you’ll find you’ll refer to them quite often! Especially if you catch yourselves starting to veer off track down the line - and if you’re anything like us it’ll happen quite often haha. This will also lead us nicely into the next task where we will be tackling the dreaded ‘B’ word, the budget, so don’t miss it!
If you like what you see so far, then we’ve plenty more for you…
