12 DAYS OF WEDDING PLANNING - DAY 8

12 Days of Wedding Planning

DAY 8 - QUOTE TIME

Congratulations, you’ve done all the initial venue research and shortlisted the ones you want to know more about. You’ve done the number crunching for your guest numbers and budgets too.

Now it’s time to get those all important quotes…

Now you’ve got your guest numbers, a rough date, a budget in mind and you’ve shortlisted your favourite 12 venues it’s time for the nitty gritty – how much will they actually cost?

Get in touch with your shortlisted 12 venues and get a quote from each of them.

  • Head over to their websites and you should be able to find some sort of quote form that you can directly pop your details into.

  • Or if you prefer you could always give them a call to let them know you require a quote and chat it through with a wedding coordinator - which is always lovely!

  • Share your guest numbers and preferred dates with the venues but be sure to check if they have any minimum/ maximum guest number requirements as this may affect your quotes.

  • They’ll also be able to let you know if they have availability on your preferred dates.

Be sure to get confirmation of exactly what is included in your quotes too.

  • Each venue will build their packages differently so make sure you know what you’d be getting without any hidden costs cropping up down the line.

When you’ve got your quotes be realistic and think to yourselves, do they work in line with your budget?

  • If the answer is yes then perfect! There may even be some wiggle room to add in those extras and upgrades you were hoping you could afford!

  • If it’s no, then have a look at potential ways you might be able to bring the cost down – this is not to be confused with discounts, I mean have a look at some of the factors your quote is affected by – such as can you cut your guest numbers? What about a Friday or off peak date as opposed to a Saturday? Would a slightly different time of year be a little financially better?

A good venue will work with you to help offer alternative dates for example that will make your quote more in line with your budget should you need to. Don’t be scared to ask for an amendment on that initial quote, you may even want to add things on to make it more personalised.

I bet it’s all feeling a bit more real now isnt? Well it’s actually about to, as the next step in our first 12 days of wedding planning will have you booking in to go and visit the venues!

If you like what you see so far, then we’ve plenty more for you…
