Liz & Max’s September Wedding
Liz & Max’s September wedding with all the added extras!
The wedding of Liz and Max back in September was absolutely jam packed with fun and creative details. In this blog I’m going to delve into some of the highlights that stood out to us to really make this Sparth House wedding a wedding to remember! Expect all things music/ decoration/ upgrades and extras.
THE DECORATION…
Timeless green, white and gold decor throughout from a mixture of local wedding suppliers really came together on the day. It was clear our couple put a lot of thought into acheiving their desired look for their big day.
Some of the standout, more classic pieces were:
Moongate arch and neon from Antha Event Hire in the ceremony room which was later moved behind the top table
Flower bombs, posies and bouquests on the wedding breakfast tables (some featured in the ceremony room first) all from Hedgehogg Florist
Coloured napkins in a lovely olive green colour with taupe chair sashes from Creative Venue Stylist with beaded glass charger plates like ours
Now for the more fun elements that really made for those ‘Instagrammable’ moments later on in the evening:
They hired Antha’s sparkler machines for some fun photos outside after dark in place of the traditional ‘sparkler shot’
Our archway even got it’s own party transformation in the evening with their ‘Let’s Party’ neon from Antha Event Hire
Not forgetting our private speakeasy style gin bar - but that’s so good it gets it’s own section later on…
THE FOOD THROUGHOUT THE DAY…
Canapes and multi choice drinks for the drinks reception, choice menus and wine upgrades for the wedding breakfast. Finally a hog roast evening buffet upgrade with doughnut wall to hit that sweet spot! You name it they probably added it - and wow did their guests enjoy it.
Drinks reception, they opted for a 50/50 split of Peroni bottled beer and our ever popular Elderflower Fizz along with these 5 canapes…
Mini tomato bruschetta
King prawn, chilli jam
Pork, cheddar & onion sausage rolls
Beef sliders, tomato chutney, pineapple salsa
Smoked salmon wheels, crème fraiche
And for their wedding breakfast menu their guests could choose from…
Leek and potato soup, bread roll
OR Chicken liver parfait, onion jam, focaccia
Sirloin of beef, duck fat roasted potatoes, root vegetables, Yorkshire
pudding, thyme jus
OR Oven roasted salmon, crushed new potatoes, tenderstem brocolli,
white wine sauce
Sticky toffee pudding, vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce
OR Lemon posset, fresh raspberries, homemade shortbread
I loved their menu choices as each course had a heavier and a lighter option to choose from which I think was really thought through.
For the evening buffet, Liz and Max upgraded to the Hog Roast option which is always a huge hit with guests!
Finally, to hit the sweet spot they added on our doughnut wall which is a nice crowd pleaser for that midnight snack!
OUR SUPER GORGEOUS SPARTH HOUSE PRIVATE GIN BAR…
I told you it needed it’s own section. Our ‘Private Gin Bar’ isn’t added on that often but when it does, it’s something a bit special and we love it!
We recently gave it a glow up too so it now has a real speakeasy vibe to it in our gorgeous front sitting room. Complete with 5 bottles of gin (or whatever your want!) of your choice and the perfect serves to accompany them. We create bespoke menus just for you and your guests really do feel quite spoilt. It’s a cool alternative to ‘putting a bit of money behind the bar’.
The Private Bar opened shortly after room turnaround started once the guests had played a very competitive game of beer & prosecco pong outside first. We then kept it open until first dance so the day and evening guests could experience it but then once the evening party started after the first dance guests mainly kept to the main room where the dancing was in full swing.
MUSIC THROUGH THE DAY…
Liz & Max had live music pretty much from the start of the day until the very end. For the day part, we had the pleasure of having Craig Smith the pianist back.
He was here for guest arrival, ceremony, drinks reception and the wedding breakfast - his poor fingers haha!
How gorgeous does his white baby grand piano look in their beautifully styled room?!
For the evening, they danced their first dance to Simply Red - Fairground before everyone took to the dancefloor. To make sure that happened they had the coolest band called Scratch. On their Facebook page, they describe themselves as a Loop based Trio playing mixes of 90's & 00's Classic Dance Anthems 100% LIVE!! They were so much fun - especially for all those late 80’s and 90s babies amongst us!
I have never known a dancefloor so be so constantly packed with every single person singing along and just having the best time.
It really was such a fun and cool wedding to be involved in from start to finish. And what a lovely couple they are! We wish you both all the happiness in your next chapter together.
