Wedding Venue Frequently Asked Questions
Planning your wedding comes with lots of questions, and we are always happy to talk through the details properly with you.
Below, we have answered some of the most common questions couples ask about weddings at Sparth House, including private visits, packages, full exclusivity, our 16 bedrooms, ceremonies, food and drink, suppliers, guest numbers and how the wedding day itself works.
Sparth House is a family-run Georgian wedding venue in Lancashire, close to Accrington, Clitheroe, Ribble Valley and within easy reach of Manchester, Preston and the wider North West. We offer private wedding spaces, 16 guest bedrooms, beautiful gardens, in-house catering and a relaxed team who will guide you from your first visit through to the morning after your wedding.
If there is anything you are still unsure about, the best next step is to book a private visit and talk it through with our wedding team.
-
Weddings at Sparth House feel personal, relaxed and genuinely looked after. We are a family-run wedding venue in Lancashire, so couples are not passed from department to department or treated like just another booking.
From your first private visit through to the morning after your wedding, our team takes the time to understand what matters to you, how you want the day to feel and what your guests will remember. Sparth House combines the character of a Georgian house, private wedding spaces, gardens, 16 bedrooms and a team who genuinely cares about getting the details right.
-
Sparth House is not a large hotel chain, a barn venue or a blank canvas space. It is a family-run Georgian house designed around weddings, with private wedding spaces, guest bedrooms, gardens and a team who know the venue inside out.
Couples often choose Sparth House because the day feels easy for their guests, personal to them and carefully managed from start to finish. You can have your ceremony, drinks, wedding breakfast, evening celebration and overnight stay all in one place.
-
No. Sparth House does not charge a separate venue hire or exclusivity fee for fully exclusive weddings.
For full exclusivity, all 16 bedrooms are reserved for your wedding party and must be paid for, either by your guests or by you as the couple. You choose which guests are allocated each room, and those guests can pay Sparth House directly. If any rooms are not taken or paid for by guests, the wedding couple is responsible for the remaining bedroom balance.
-
Yes. If you do not need all 16 bedrooms, we can talk you through our non-exclusive option.
With a non-exclusive wedding, your ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception spaces remain private to you. The difference is that unused bedrooms and some other areas of the house may be available to other overnight guests or events.
We only ever host one wedding per day at Sparth House.
-
Sparth House is primarily a wedding venue with accommodation. We have 16 bedrooms, but we are not a large hotel where weddings are simply one part of the business.
Our focus is weddings and events, which means the house, team and guest experience are built around helping couples have a relaxed, well-run and personal wedding day.
-
Yes. One of the reasons couples love Sparth House is that they get to know the team looking after them.
You will be guided by our in-house wedding team, who understand the venue, the timings, the rooms, the suppliers and all the small details that help the day run smoothly. We want you to feel supported, not passed around.
-
Yes. Sparth House is based in Lancashire and is within easy reach of Manchester, Preston, Clitheroe, Ribble Valley and the wider North West.
Couples often choose Sparth House because it feels tucked away and personal, while still being practical for guests travelling from different areas.
-
Yes. We will guide you through the structure of the day, but your wedding should still feel personal to you.
You can personalise your styling, flowers, music, entertainment, stationery, food choices and the way you use the house. We can also recommend trusted suppliers if you need help finding the right people.
-
A private visit is the best way to understand whether Sparth House feels right for you.
Photographs and brochures are helpful, but walking through the house, seeing the ceremony and reception spaces, looking at the bedrooms and talking through your own plans makes everything much clearer. Most couples say Sparth House makes sense once they see how the day flows in person.
-
Couples often remember how relaxed the day felt, how well looked after they and their guests were, and how lovely it was to have their closest people staying over in the house.
The wedding itself does not have to end when the music stops. For couples using the bedrooms, the celebration continues into the morning after, with breakfast, goodbyes and one last chance to enjoy the house together.
