DAY 9 - BOOK YOUR SHOWROUNDS
You’ve made it to day 9, you’ve got your shortlist of venues and you’ve received your quotes now it’s time to narrow down that list and start to book yourselves in to see them in the flesh (or should I say brick and mortar)!
After receiving your quotes, the next step is to view the venues themselves – we advise cutting your list by about half so you view around 6 venues.
Why only 6? Any more than 6 and you’ll face the problem of overwhelming yourself and they’ll start to all merge into one. Also you’ll have likely ruled out a couple straight away once you received your quotes.
Some of you will find it easy to cut down, others of you will struggle so here’s a few things to consider:
Does it tick your priorities list you made earlier?
Looking at your quote, does the price point work for you or will the venue alone swallow all of your budget (remember that on average your venue should be about 52% of your whole budget)?
Does the location work for you and your guests – if guests will have to travel quite a bit, is there plenty of accommodation on site or nearby for them to stay and is it reasonable?
Do you BOTH like it from what you’ve seen so far? No point in viewing it if one of you really doesn’t get a good vibe from it yet.
Now you’ve got your 6 chosen venues to view, get in touch with them and book in with a wedding coordinator to go and view the venue, have a showround, review your quote, meet some of the team and hopefully fall in love with at least one of them.
You’re all boked in and so close now to finding your dream wedding venue - you’re sailing through our first 12 days of wedding planning! Next we have all the advice on how you can make the most out of your showrounds!
If you like what you see so far, then we’ve plenty more for you…
