DAY 2 - WEDDING DATE

If you listened to our advice for day 1, then you will probably still feel on Cloud 9 which is perfect!

But now the fun starts, so get your notepads at the ready…

Let’s recap as today is all about getting a wedding date in mind…

If you know your dream date then perfect this is a great start! However do still pick a couple of back up dates near to it (or let the venues know you’re flexible) in case they don’t have the availability on it.

If you’ve not got a specific date in mind then don’t panic but do narrow it down a bit by considering things such as:

  • What year do you want? Think about other factors which may impact your decision such as…

    • How much time do you need to give yourselves to save?

    • Any other commitments you may have - it could be that a couple of your close friends are also getting married that year so you may decide to do it the following year

    • Timescales of any other big future plans - new job/ new house/ a growing family maybe

  • Which month or season do you prefer…

    • This blog post may help if you are struggling to decide

    • Bear in mind that you’ll find most venues will be cheaper in the ‘off peak’ months such as Winter and this could make a big impact on your quote when it comes to it

  • Your preferred day of the week…

    • Is it crucial you have a Saturday date for work/ school reasons or would a Friday or off peak day be fine for you (may be cheaper)?

Great work! You should now have a date in mind - and whether it took you 10 minutes or all day to get to this point, it doesn’t matter. So get it ticked off your list and our next step in perfecting your first 12 days of wedding planning where we will be tackling the guestlist!

If you like what you see so far, then we’ve plenty more for you…
