Wenzel & Ged’s stunning Summer Wedding!

We had an amazing day at Sparth House
— Mr & Mrs Mason

Wenzel & Ged were one of our many couples who were unfortunate enough to have to postpone their wedding numerous times due to that dreaded c-word and I couldn’t be more happy for them when their day finally came around.

Quick backstory… I knew the groom already as he is my cousin’s best friend and their wedding was at the end of a very busy, wedding packed August bank holiday weekend. So for me personally, it was even more lovely way to finish a mammoth wedding season as there were some very familiar faces at this wedding.

There’s always time for a quick wedding selfie…

In this blog I’m going to cover the 3 main areas that Wenzel & Ged excelled in when planning their wedding and that is the ceremony and how beautiful and classic it looked, the styling in general and the food throughout the day! so here goes…

THE WEDDING CEREMONY…

Wenzel & Ged chose to hire in gold chairs for their ceremony and along with our ceremony dressing and the huge green and white flower bombs from Hedgehogg Florist, the look Wenzel was going for was really pulled together.

The photographer even got a gorgeous shot of her dress hanging in there before any guests arrived. This has since become quite a popular shot for bride’s to get in the morning!

THE STYLING…

Gold, White and green took centre stage in our Alexandra Suite for the wedding breakfast set up and it looked so luxurious. They mixed large flower bombs on perspex stands with our gold and foliage candelabras to create a lovely mix of height and texture within the room. Again, gold chairs were hired in to transform the look and charger plates used to elevate the tables and trust me when I say, they make the food look even more delicious!

They also had Lauren Charlotte Violinist playing throughout the meal and it was just devine. She played in a more modern style as opposed to classic and it was gorgeous. You can hear a snippet of it on the video just below…

A wonderful comparison for before and during the room being filled with guests. Sound on to hear the violinist!

THE FOOD THROUGHOUT THE DAY…

There was no chance of guests getting hungry at this wedding, our bride & groom added canapes - ‘all the canapes’ (well 6 different ones) for their guests to enjoy. They picked a great mixture of savoury and sweet and my goodness how gorgeous do the sweet ones look!!

  • Mini tomato bruschetta

  • Chicken liver parfait, crostini, onion jam

  • King prawn, chilli jam

  • Mini brownies

  • Mini chocolate orange tart

  • Boozy Bailey’s milkshake

And for their wedding breakfast menu they chose…

  • TO START - Salmon fishcakes, citrus mayo

  • MAIN EVENT - Breast of chicken wrapped in parma ham stuffed with spinach, new potatoes, seasonal vegetables, white wine sauce

  • TO FINISH - Sticky toffee pudding, Mrs Dowson’s vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce

For the evening buffet,

they selected our Market Food option and picked the Mexican (one of our most popular cuisine choices) and the Greek meze which is packed full of cheeses, meats, dips and breads, olives, the list goes on…

Finally, to hit the sweet spot they added on our doughnut wall which is always a crowd pleaser for that midnight snack!
