What to Expect - at a Sparth House wedding food taster

Other than marrying the love of your life, surrounded by family and friends, food is usually the number one aspect of their day that couples look forward to the most.

You can have food and drink at every single section of your day - drinks reception, wedding breakfast, after dinner, evening and even late at night. Our food is incredible, even if we do say so ourselves, and we pride ourselves on offering something a little different so that your menu is bespoke, elegant and fun!

A taster day is a big part of your wedding planning journey and you might want to share that with parents, bridal party or other important family members. You can have up to six people in your booking so make it a day to remember.

HOW DO I BOOK?!

We will email you a few months before your wedding, with a link to register.

You don’t pay at the time of booking, the cost is added to your wedding balance.

We will just need the number of guests attending and any dietary or allergy requiremnets.

You’ll select your preferred date, then we allocate dates and times on a first come, first served basis.

WHAT WILL WE TRY?

What we have on offer changes each time and we are always looking to make the next wedding food taster day bigger and better than the one before; but in short, you can expect:

  • A welcome drink

  • 4 canapés

  • 4 starters

  • 4 mains

  • 4 desserts

  • A tasting glass of red and white wine

  • Tea & coffee & our famous fudge

The menu is created specifically for the day by the Head Chef. There will always be firm favourites on each course, plus a wildcard or two - something you might not have considered before. Canapes are full size, but all other food is tasting dish size - so a smaller portion.

WHAT HAPPENS ON THE DAY?

You’ll have been given an arrival time. It is important to arrive on time, as your event is broken up in to timed sections and your time slot is unique.

There’s no sitting around a dining table in a room full of other couples whislt servers bring food.

You’ll be welcomed by a member of the wedding team into the house for your ‘drinks reception’ and you’ll enjoy canapés and a welcome drink. You’ll then move to another room or area of the house for starters, then to another for mains and wine, then finally out to either the conservatory or gardens for your desserts.

You’ll get to spend time with all the wedding team and have a chat about your upcoming wedding.

ANYTHING ELSE?

We’ll also have the house fully dressed and bedrooms open, so afterwards you’ll be able to have a wander around. We will also have our extras and upgrades available for you to see and try; this might be beer and prosecco pong, our gin bar, decoration or upgraded drinks. So make the most of your time and make sure you have a good look around!

Your whole experience will take just over an hour, with extra time to look around afterwards. Our bar is also open, so if you want to sit and have a drink in the gardens afterwards, you are of course welcome!
